Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Review

Yet another choice by the fashion and fragrance guru Tania Martinez - Guerlain Aqua Allegoria. My girlfriend and I decided to test it during night time, something like 2 years back, and it just didn't feel right. Since we already had the bottle at home, and my girlfriend, in spite of having hundreds of different perfumes, has decided she is bored of her current selection – we took a dive into the "no-zone". The no zone is a bathroom closet that we decided to keep away from.

There's nothing much to do with a perfume you aren't very fond of, else than throwing it into the rubbish – but it really did feel like a waste, so it went into the no-zone. Now we opened the closet that remained untouched for so long and this lovely shaped bottle just popped into our vision.

We liked Bobbi Brown's perfume, a previous recommendation by Martinez, and we knew she means business. After the second taste, it felt so much better. Overall this is a great perfume for the winter time that just doesn't fit right with the night atmosphere- it's purely a daytime fragrance.

The review

Guerlain aqua allegoria is a very floral scent that flaws with ease. It tickles your nose, gently but firmly enough for you to spot it, and continues its journey spreading in the air. One might claim it doesn't last for long enough, and doesn't stick into your, but I, for instance, do not concur. If a fragrance isn't dominant, it doesn't testify about any other aspect of its quality.

The Aqua Allegoria, in that case, is a little too weak in my opinion but some other worlds known perfumes are known to provide you with the same tickling, teasing affect – so this is no parameter to detect quality. The scents are Syringa flower mixed with honey and citrus scents. Floral and light and definitely sweet, but not overly sweet like the perfumes aimed at teenagers. This is a mature scent with a character that is worth buying, but let me remind you again – only as a daytime fragrance.

It is now available at Amazon.com for $59 so it's a pretty good deal if you are into floral, laid back scents.

A little about the maker

Guerlain is one of the oldest perfumeries in the world. It started out in the beginning of the 19th century and it has a long, rich and respected legacy as a world-wide lead perfumery. It made fragrances for the queen of England and Spain when it was regarded as the greatest honor a perfumery can have.

The newer generation is however a little problematic and made a huge fuss in France when the owner has interviewed to the French TV and said some pretty offensive remarks about people of color.
